I watched the video, and realistically I could see everything except the second PVC curtain getting a Class C rating due to the slow burn rate. But the problem of course is how do we determine the burn rate unless by some odd chance they actually got the paperwork for it?

By the way, I'd like to give the video editor a few tips...

Check out this video a fire department put together on how different materials like these "dividers" burn.

    Hello

I fielded a call yesterday where a school system tried using acrylic material for sneeze guards. They have since swapped out to polycarbonate material. It is my understanding the acrylic manufacturer advised not to use their product in this type of setting due to melting pretty quick. I have to give credit to WRTFD Fire Marshal for researching this. In this example the school was using jack chain to hang the material from the drop ceiling. Couple of things to consider is sprinkler clearance and depending on the installation if the grid system has extra support cables for the extra weight.

I'm starting this thread to initiate a member discussion of things we're seeing in our areas as businesses take measures to combat COVID-19 concerns.

What have you seen, how has it impacted code compliance, and if it creates a non-compliant situation how have you cited it and/or allowed it to be corrected?
