Good for your maintenance supervisor, maybe buy him a lunch and just talk.

I just spoke with the maintenance supervisor for Grandbrook MemoryCare in my area, Greenwood, and he was told to do the same thing.  Luclikly, he has some integrity and told his higher ups that it was illegal and he wouldn't do it.

That national chain is Grand Brook Memory Care. It appears they only have three locations Indiana, Zionsville, Fishers and Greenwood. Fortunately, our director had the integrity to check with us and the SFM first.

I've touched base with two other facilities in our jurisdiction and, fortunately, they have not received a similar directive.

Hopefully this is isolated to the single chain, but as we know, bad ideas can spread quickly.

We are aware of at least 1 national chain encouraging a local facility to shut down its sprinkler system due to the incoming cold weather.  Use this forum to share information as appropriate with other FIAI members.
